How can Hypnotherapy Help you?
You have within you all the resources to solve your problems.
Whatever your mind created, whether it’s a phobia, panic attack, blushing, insomnia, unwanted habit, etc, your mind can take away. The question is, how do you do it?
Suppose you were an inexperienced mountain climber and you’re unsure about how to climb a particular mountain, you would hire a guide. The guide would show you how to reach the top but he would not carry you. I am your guide helping you to reach your goal by activating your inner resources.
Unlike many therapies, hypnotherapy concentrates on the solution and not the problem. Of course I need to know what the problem is and then the focus in on what you want to achieve.
Your brain has two parts, your conscious and your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind is your every day mind, it is analytical, critical, thinking, discriminating, decision making and it occupies about 10% of your brain.
Your subconscious is simplistic, animalistic, non-judgemental and it moves towards pleasure and away from pain it occupies the other 90% of your brain. It has a record of everything that you have experienced in your life. Its prime concern is your survival and its intention is always good but its behaviour can be bizarre.
If you receive poor service and rudeness in a shop you can make a conscious decision not to go there again. However, if you tell yourself that you’re no longer afraid of heights it’s highly unlikely that the fear has gone because the fear is not in your conscious mind but deep down in your subconscious.
There are various ways of removing the fear and when you are in hypnosis, your subconscious mind is open and the fear can be removed permanently.
If you suffer from random panic attacks, hypnoanalysis can find the root cause and eliminate it.
Where the subconscious intention is good but the behaviour is bizarre, a more acceptable behaviour can be substituted without losing the good intention.
Suggestion plays a very important part in hypnosis. A suggestion is a proposal for your subconscious to accept a new belief therefore it needs to be positive in direction. If you feel jittery about taking a driving test, the suggestion would be along the lines of, ‘during your test you will feel calm, composed, relaxed but with an alertness’, and not ‘you will not feel tense, anxious or nervous when you take your test’.
Whatever your problem there is every chance that hypnosis can help you.
