Hypnosis for Anxiety

Anxiety can be caused by worrying about a future event and being nervous about the outcome. It creates uneasiness in the head bringing about catastrophic negative thoughts. This then causes symptoms or uncomfortable feelings in the body.

Phobias and panic attacks come under the umbrella of anxiety. Common causes of anxiety are:

  • Fear of flying
  • Public speaking
  • Injections
  • Tests and exams
  • Heights
  • Enclosed spaces
  • Storms
  • Crossing bridges
  • Darkness
  • Insects and animals

All of these come under the subheading of phobias.

Insects can sting and animals can bite and the thought of pain creates the anxiety: pain is also associated with injections.

Claustrophobia can play a part in the fear of flying, the thought of being trapped in a confined space and not being in control.

A learner driver can feel confident when having final lessons but being overcome by nerves when taking the actual test under the scrutiny of the examiner. Similar nervousness can occur in a student when taking exams.

The symptoms the body experiences during severe anxiety are:

  • Palpitations
  • Rapid breathing
  • Churning stomach
  • Nausea
  • Clammy hands
  • Getting hotter or colder
  • Shaking

When the heart is beating rapidly it is not uncommon for the sufferer to think they are having a heart attack.
